After doing the rounds on my favourite blogs I came across this street shot on the Jak and Jil blog. The beautiful printed skirt is by Prada. This trompe l'oeil idea is something I've came across a lot recently, especially at the Maison Martin Margiela 20 exhibition. Margiela often plays with this idea, from his exquisite printed dresses and jumper printed tops to his laminate door stickers and printed walls.
It also brought me back to the amazing prints from McQueen's A/W 10/11 menswear show, like the Raincoat (literally) above. Bringing back to life the surrealist collaborations of Salvador Dali and Elsa Schiaparelli in the 1930's. I would love to see this as an emerging trend.

Margiela's awesome exhibition '20' started at Somerset House Yesterday.
A real lesson in lateral thought and design.

Dennis Hopper 1936-2010

“You want to hear about insanity? I was found running naked through the jungles in Mexico. At the Mexico City airport, I decided I was in the middle of a movie and walked out on the wing on takeoff. My body... my liver... okay, my brain... went.”
